Grant To Fund Documentary On NW Georgia Regional Hospital
The Rome-Floyd County Development Authority announced Thursday that they received a grant from the Rome Area Heritage Foundation in the amount of $3,000.
The money will be used to fund a documentary about the former Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital. RAHF is dedicated to helping identify and preserve historic sites, artifacts and stories of Rome.
“We are happy to support this project,” said RAHF President Jonathan Gilreath-Harvey. “Not only will it capture the history of Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital, but we also believe it is an excellent way to honor the citizens of our community by preserving their stories.”
The RFCDA has partnered with BrandRED, an award-winning Georgia based video production agency, to do the filming.
The RFCDA has already started to contact people who have expressed interest in sharing the untold stories of the time they spent at the hospital. They hope to have the filming wrapped up no later than Dec. 1.
If you were a patient, a staff member, or lived on the property and would like to tell your story, please call Michelle Phillips at 706-413-4213.
