Sunrise Manufacturing announced plans Tuesday for a $4 million expansion of their Company and relocation into the Floyd County Industrial Park.  This expansion will create an additional 10 jobs. Their relocation from Parrish Drive will involve the construction of a new 72,000 square foot building on 10 acres adjacent to property just purchased by Summit Hill Foods.

“We purchased the Honeycomb Division from Southern Bracing Systems in 2018 and are very humbled by the success of our business,” said Mr. Jim Zander, Plant Manager of Sunrise Manufacturing in Rome, GA.

“This is great news for Sunrise and for Floyd County.  Sunrise’s business is going great and more Floyd County citizens get to have a job,” said Floyd County Commission Chairman Scotty Hancock.

Sunrise manufacturing is a leading manufacturer of honeycomb dunnage materials serving Fortune 500 companies since 1981.  They currently cover the United States with five manufacturing plants including California, Washington, New Mexico, Texas, and Rome, Georgia.  Sunrise provides load securement solutions and transit protection products.

“Congratulations to Sunrise and all their employees. As Chairman of the Authority, I welcome them as the newest tenant in the Floyd County Industrial Park,” said Ryan Earnest, Chairman of the Development Authority of Floyd County.

Sunrise patented products help reduce or eliminate damage to products during transit. They have expanded their product offering with the capability to produce Sunrise Small Cell honeycomb along with additional application enhancements such as PSA (adhesive), die-cutting, and other load efficiency.
